MOBILE MEDIC // This campaign not only changed recruitment advertising - it changed the way students study and diagnose the human body. It won over 100 international awards, including 4 Gold Lions and 1 Silver at Cannes, as well a Bronze in the coveted Titanium and Integrated Category.
YOU'RE ACCEPTED // This campaign won 3 Lions at Cannes, including Australia's only Cyber Lion – a Silver.
But more importantly it generated more than a million messages of support for young LGBTI people struggling
with their identity.
THIS CALLS FOR A COCKTAIL // In this integrated campaign we didn't just make ads. We made cocktails.
What started as a 30 second TVC brief ended in 65 individual 15 second ads and 1 big headache for our production department.
Here are a few of our many 15sec TVCs that made it to air. They certainly stood out during the commercial break.
THE HUMAN WALKING PROGRAM // This is the pet adoption campaign where the dogs did the rescuing. What started as an adoption drive for my local dog shelter soon turned into a global movement, becoming a great demonstration for the power of an idea. This campaign was awarded and written about all over the world.
PTV DONATION POSTERS // 2 years in the making, this project was one of the most satisfying things I've ever created. Our Public Transport Victoria client wanted to make a social impact for good with a campaign that was innovative and heart warming.
cheers to childhood // Kids don't know just how good they've got it. This TVC for iconic Australian cordial brand Cottee's, celebrates one child that does.
Question the answers // Univeristy advertising in Australia tends to feature the same old cliches of succesful previous students mixed with shots of fancy science departments. For Monash – one of the most prestigious – we needed to break the mould. What followed was their most succesful campaign ever.
INTERVENTION // A simple TVC for the Lost Dogs Home to promote desexing.
The Human side of energy // This campaign for Australia's largest energy company, AGL, reminded people just how important it is in their lives.
Calling out the competition // Most betting companies offer up the same kinds of promotions. So when CrownBet launched a market-first Rewards Promgram we saw a great opportunity for a radio campaign.

The print ad exam // The Australian Air Force needed to recruit the best engineers in the country - so we put them to the test. The promotion challenged young engineers to solve a complex engineering maths equation – the answer of which was unique phone number that put them in direct contact with an Air Forece recruitment officer. This simple print ad won a lot of awards, from Silver at The One Show to In Book at D&AD.

Surprise packaging // Each year Australia Post delivers millions of Christmas presents in bog-standard, boring old cardboard boxes. This year we changed things up a bit with a present disguise for an extra surprise.
Letters of Gallipoli // This content series featured famous Australian actors and commemorated the centenary of the Anzacs by giving a new voice to forgotten soldiers.
the puppet peloton // Normally cyclists ride past billboards – this one rode past them. To promote Australia's biggest cycling event this unusual piece of outdoor traveled 1000's of kms across the country, targeting Australia's most popular cycling routes. It's also by far the most ridiculous thing I have ever created.
this energy company wanted people to 'save the money' // At a time when most energy companies were helping Australians save the planet, we came out with a message that told them to "SAVE THE MONEY".

me, my cat and some awards I've won // Barrow grew up in a remote Australian town called Red Cliffs - population 2600. Voted funniest kid in high school he considers this his first achievement in advertising.
Not content with just making the good people of Red Cliffs laugh, he graduated university with a degree in graphic design and moved to Melbourne. He then came runner-up in the prestigious Australian Writers & Art Directors School and thrived as an Art Director at Melbourne's most respected advertising agencies.

Barrow currently resides as Creative Director of iconic Australian advertising agency George Patterson Y&R. In the 4 years since starting he has won 8 new pieces of business and has become the single most awarded creative in the history of the agency. In 2012 he was ranked by Cannes Lions as in the Top Ten Art Directors in the world and in 2013 in the Top 20 by The Directory Big Won report. His "Mobile Medic" campaign for the Australian Defence Force was the 11th most awarded campaign in the world in 2013 and has more recently been featured in Simon Veksner's book "100 ideas that changed advertising". In 2014 his "Human Walking Program" for the Lost Dogs Home became a global phenomenon and was featured in several books including award winning author Kim Kavin's "Good Stock" and Massachusetts College of Art and Design Professor, Elizabeth Resnick's book "Developing Citizen Designers".

Beyond advertising Barrow is an amateur boxer, terrible fisherman and loving husband. He also sits on the committee for Team Africa - an organisation dedicated to providing young African men and women opportunities through sport.

That's not my cat Millie. But it is a Tiger I fought with my bare hands in Thailand.

I run a blog about the guy from Edvard Munch's "The Scream" photobombing other paintings. It's fun.

I like cooking BBQs.

I look like Fred Durst – the lead singer from 90's hip-hop band Limp Bizkit – and once became the subject of a short lived meme called "Durst-ception".

I ride my bike to work and get nice views on the way home.

When I was asked to do a leacture on Outdoor Advertising for AWARD School, I did a walking tour around the city.

I bought the same shirt "Chunk" wears in 80's cult movie The Goonies.
